On Saturday, September 14, 2002, one year after the tragic events of September 11, we filled New York Harbor with sails. The goal was simple to have the greatest gathering of sailboats ever in the history of the harbor. This will be three things.
  1. It was a memorial to the people who died.
  2. It was a symbolic rebirth for the City of New York.
  3. It is a tribute to the soaring spirit of America - out of great tragedy and destruction, we Americans create a symbol of hope and beauty.
