March 23, 2007: We took a "cruise" on a "schooner" at Paraty, Brazil.
Scroll down to see more pictures.

Unlike the schooners in New York harbor, that put up sails and actually motor-sail,
these silly boats putt-putted without any sails, just tourists.

We had docked next to this small cruise ship (the Andrea) earlier, in Santos,
and now we were anchored near each other at Paraty. We saw her again in Rio!

A real sailboat, but motoring along. Later, we did see sailboats under sail, but couldn't get good pictures.

View of someone's home from the "schooner."

Someone else's home.

When we anchored for snorkeling, the mate threw some fish food overboard, and attracted thousands of small, darting, silvery fishes.

And some of us went ashore via human-propelled dingies…
